Red Tails
This movie is about a group of black American Soldiers that were fighting in World War 2. This movie touches on issues that a lot of Black American soldiers faced during the early mid 1900’s. Some of these issues were racial discrimination; where African American soldiers were being placed into separate military bases from their fellow white soldiers when they were having downtime from fighting the German army. This film not only touches on the issues that these airmen faced but, also shows how they came together and overcame those obstacles and found strength in unity and drive by becoming some of the most skilled pilots in WWII. One great idea that these airmen came up was to mark the ends/tails of the fighter planes so that the fellow American airmen would recognize who their fellow airmen was while shooting at the Germans. This tactic was great and kept the American pilots aware of their surroundings while going into German territory. After I watched this film it gave me new perspective on skilled and courage one has to be while flying in the air.
