Aviation Story #5 - Brittany Robinson

The conclusion of WINGS truly sparked my curiosity as to what experts thought about the future of aviation, and where it was headed. It is agreed amongst major airline CEO's that in 5 years, airline companies will for sure diminish. But in this process, they believe that the resulting companies will be "bigger and stronger," in the words of Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly.

They predict that in 25 years, the travel between any 2 places will become a standard. Travel times will probably continue to decrease as new parts are improved upon, and the production of such parts should continue to cost less and less. David Barger, CEO of JetBlue Airlines, is confident that airlines will find a way to minimize their impacts on the environment.

In 100 years David Siegel, CEO of Frontier Airlines, believes that major innovations in aircraft design will occur. This could mean smaller and more efficient aircrafts, and possibly even pilotless flying. It seems that there are high hopes for the future of aviation, but most CEO's were unsure of what the future may hold.
